Yes, we might be able to increase muscle growth by using slow eccentric tempos, because of the longer time under tension (while still maintaining high levels of motor unit recruitment).

It’s not guaranteed, however, because it is quite difficult to achieve sufficiently high levels of motor unit recruitment in the eccentric phase, when the load is light enough to lift concentrically.
