Yes, absolutely. Similarly, applying heat directly to the muscle (perhaps as a warm water bath) increases ATP utilization, temporarily increasing muscle force output by increasing crossbridge formation but inevitably also increasing the development of metabolite-related fatigue. Cooling the muscle obviously does the opposite, temporarily decreasing muscle force output (which looks like fatigue but isn’t actually the same thing).
